KEKAKI Charters opens its fishing season in the Western Basin of Lake Erie on May 1st. The Walleye have finished their spawning cycle and have begun their post spawn feeding frenzy. We continue to fish the Western Basin area until Labor Day and then the boat is moved to Vermilion, Ohio, where we target trophy-sized Walleye, Smallmouth Bass and Yellow Perch. At this time, walleye, bass and perch school in the cool waters of the Central Basin to feed as the season comes to a close.
The dream of catching big fish haunts all fishermen. An exhausting battle with a lunker walleye, the thrill of experiencing that sudden surge of power as a smallmouth bass explodes out of the water and tantalizes you with excitement or catching double headers of yellow perch are some of the ingredients that make fishing with KEKAKI Charters a memorable experience for anglers of all ages and fishing abilities.
